Security Clearance Required

A growing defence/aerospace organisation is seeking a senior stress engineer to lead structural analysis activities for a next-generation complex platform. The position involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams across several UK sites to develop advanced structural solutions.

Benefits

The Role

The Mechanical Analysis function oversees structural and thermal performance across the full product lifecycle—from early concept studies through detailed development, testing, manufacturing support and in-service investigation. Work involves a mix of classical analysis, advanced CAE simulation (static, dynamic, fatigue, aeroelastic, nonlinear, impact, kinematics), qualification testing and loads/fault assessments. The environment is supportive, collaborative and encourages knowledge sharing and involvement in multiple projects.

Required Experience
  • Degree (or significant experience) in mechanical, aerospace or a related engineering discipline
  • Proven ability to scope, plan and deliver diverse structural analysis work packages using both traditional calculation techniques and CAE tools (preferably HyperWorks)
  • Strong capability in producing clear, detailed technical reports and presenting complex findings to stakeholders
  • Proactive approach to improving tools, methods and processes
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with composite structural analysis is advantageous
  • Willingness to work toward higher-level security clearance is beneficial
