Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Associate Director / Technical Director Soil Scientist to lead a growing soil team within Ground & Water. The role focuses on expanding capabilities, embedding soil understanding across the business and delivering projects with supervision.

You will shape strategy around Agricultural Land Classification, Soil Resource Assessment and Environmental Statements, working with multiple teams to broaden client offerings and meet KPIs.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Soil Science (or similar) with 10+ years relevant experience.
• Demonstrable consultancy experience and understanding of relevant policies and guidance.
• Experience leading and growing a team.
• Strong grounding in H&S procedures (CDM).
• Excellent communication and written skills.
• Registration with a relevant professional body and ideally Chartered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the soil team within Ground & Water and expand capabilities.
• Deliver projects across UK with supervision, including bidding, delivery and financial management.
• Develop soil strategy and implement areas like ALC and Soil Resource Assessment.
• Collaborate with Ground & Water, Nature Advisory and Sustainability to broaden offerings.
• Meet team KPIs and drive client base and revenue growth.
