Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Associate Director / Technical Director Soil Scientist to lead our growing soil team within Ground & Water. You will drive soil strategy, collaborate across Ground & Water, Nature Advisory, and Environmental Planning to embed soil understanding across the business.

You will supervise projects, expand our client base, and work with our management teams to meet key KPIs while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Soil Science, or similar (physical geology, environmental science) with 10+ years relevant experience.
• Experience leading and growing a team.
• Be able to demonstrate excellent communication and written skills.
• Registered with a relevant professional body and ideally chartered.
• Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and agricultural practice.

Responsibilities

• Directing and managing the team with a focus on growing capabilities and client base.
• Leading project delivery across the UK with fee proposals, business development and work winning duties.
• Training junior staff and sharing knowledge with other environmental disciplines.
