Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Associate Director / Senior Soil Scientist to lead our growing soil team within the Ground & Water group. You will drive delivery on soil-related projects, expand capabilities, and collaborate with colleagues across Ground & Water, Nature Advisory, and Sustainability policy to embed soil thinking across the business.

You will work from a flexible location with hybrid working and travel into offices for meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Soil Science or equivalent
• Experience in consultancy and understanding of relevant policies/guidance
• Experience leading and growing a team
• Strong H&S knowledge including CDM
• Experience liaising with clients, contractors, planning authorities and stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Registered with a relevant professional body and ideally chartered
• Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and agricultural practice in the UK

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the soil team with focus on growth and client base
• Lead project delivery across the Ground & Water workstream
• Assist in fee proposals, business development and client acquisition
• Train and mentor junior staff, share knowledge across disciplines
