The role is responsible for providing practical and social work support for disabled children and their families. This involves holding a more complex caseload. This will include visiting children and their families, carrying out interventions, reviewing the work undertaken, direct work with children and families and any other work identified as necessary. All this must be based on best evidence and good practice, privileging the best interests of children and young people.
You should be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England and have the commitment and passion to be at the forefront of delivering best practice and support to disabled children and families. You will be able to manage a complex and diverse caseload to the required standards. The Senior Social Worker will be confident in their analysis and decision making to deliver purposeful and effective social care. You will be skilled in supervision, performance management and improvement techniques to ensure high quality of practice. You should have the commitment and passion to be at the forefront of delivering best practice and support to disabled children and families. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check.
