Job summary

Immunocore invites applications for a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation (CMC) in Oxford. The role focuses on biochemical characterisation, mass spectrometry, and peptide mapping of biologics, contributing to development of characterisation methods for ImmTAX and related products.

Collaboration across teams and mentoring duties are part of the scope. The successful candidate will work in a bench-based biopharmaceutical lab, apply LC-MS/MS and other analytical techniques, and support study

Qualifications

• Experience in HPLC-based peptide mapping methods.
• Mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic, chromatographic or mass spectrometry techniques.
• Experience in assay development.
• Knowledge of GMP principles and quality systems.
• Collaborative team contributor with change-management experience.
• Presented scientific findings to internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Characterise biologics/biopharmaceutical products using LC-MS/MS and related methods.
• Contribute to development of characterisation methods for ImmTAX and related products.
• Prepare study protocols and reports; maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Lead lines of investigation and mentor colleagues where appropriate.
• Communicate results to senior management and partners.
