Overview

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently recruiting for a leading in the gene therapy company based London, UK who are seeking a Senior Scientist – Bioassay Development. This role offers the chance to work with a pioneering organisation focused on advancing gene therapies.

As the Senior Scientist – Bioassay Development, you will play a critical role in the development and application of in vitro potency assays for gene therapy products, particularly those involving AAV.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and qualify in vitro potency assays suitable for product release for human clinical trials.
  • Lead the development, execution, training, and troubleshooting of bioassays, ensuring high standards of laboratory practices.
  • Collaborate closely with research, clinical teams, and external collaborators to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support the Regulatory team by providing technical expertise for regulatory submissions.
Role Requirements
  • Relevant degree in biological sciences.
  • Extensive industry experience in bioassay development and product characterisation, particularly for gene therapy products.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with AAV cell-based assay development, including infectivity, relative infectivity, expression, and functional assays.
