Job summary

83zero Ltd in the UK is hiring a Senior Service Designer with active SC clearance to lead public sector digital transformation projects across London, Manchester, Glasgow and Bristol.

You will shape user-centred services, apply GDS standards, facilitate workshops, mentor junior designers and work in agile, multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful impact. This role offers a collaborative design community, ongoing training and opportunities to influence policy and service delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in service and product design.
• Active SC clearance - ESSENTIAL.
• Strong experience applying GDS standards within public sector environments.
• A proven track record of independently leading service design workstreams.
• Excellent workshop facilitation, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading end-to-end service design workstreams, from discovery through to delivery.
• Shaping innovative, user-focused digital services.
• Applying GDS standards, accessibility and inclusive design principles.
• Facilitating workshops, co-design sessions and design sprints.
• Collaborating with UX/UI designers, researchers, product owners and developers.
• Mentoring junior designers and helping shape the wider design practice.
