Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Network Planner - Resilience to lead resilience, emergency and severe weather response planning, and to guide the development of best practice processes. You will coordinate with regional operations and external partners to minimise customer impact and ensure continuous service.

The role involves managing resilience funding, developing contingency plans, and driving improvements across plans and activities to protect and improve road network performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Civil Contingency Act 2004 (desirable)
• Experience creating and developing response plans including debriefs (desirable)
• Ability to implement crisis management procedures and policies
• Good communications and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead development of resilience, emergency and severe weather response plans.
• Develop and refine processes and procedures adopting best practice and insights.
• Liaise with regional Operations and external stakeholders to minimise impact on customers.
• Manage Network Resilience funding and prioritise schemes aligned to risk.
• Provide advice to minimise impact during emergencies and optimise continuity.
• Analyse effectiveness of existing plans and implement improvement initiatives.
