Senior Residential Support Worker – Emotional Well‑Being Home

Location: Braunstone, Leicestershire.

Service Overview

The Old Post Office, our beautiful home in Braunstone supports children & young people between 8-18 years with a complex range of risk and behaviours. The service will provide up to 3 service users at any one‑time opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills. Although this home will be your base location, you must be flexible to travel throughout the locality to cover shifts in other homes should the need arise. Our homes are located in Braunstone, Hinckley, Coalville, Syston, Rothley, Mountsorrel & Market Harborough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships that promote the service user’s independence, wellbeing, strengths and capabilities.
  • Work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
  • Lead and support the Residential Support Workers in their day‑to‑day duties.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning etc.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.
Essential Requirements
  • Must hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare OR be willing to complete this in the required timeframe.
  • Relevant experience working with children & young people.
  • At least 1 year supervisory and shift leader experience in a residential care setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
