Overview

Senior Residential Childcare Worker - £35,121.60 - £37,243.20 (OTE, inclusive of sleep-ins) - Derby, Derbyshire

The Role

Do you possess 2years' experience in senior residential childcare? Are you experienced in leading a care team and creating a safe, supportive environment?

We are a well-established provider of high-quality residential childcare, with homes registered with Ofsted. We are looking for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join our team in Mickleover, Derby, and help make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

You will work with children and young people aged 5-18 who have emotional, social, and behavioural needs. Your role is to ensure their physical, emotional, and educational development is supported within a safe, structured environment.

You must have the right to work in the UK, as we are unable to provide sponsorship.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and organise shifts, ensuring effective delegation and teamwork
  • Support young people with education, activities, and personal development
  • Follow and implement care plans and risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care reviews
  • Handle conflict resolution and provide debriefs for the team
  • Deliver high standards of care and support
  • Encourage participation in leisure, learning, and daily living skills
  • Carry out key working sessions and develop co-key workers
  • Facilitate service user meetings
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and care regulations
  • Promote a stable, nurturing environment where young people can thrive

The Person
  • NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People)
  • At least 2 years' experience in senior residential childcare
  • 5 years' UK working experience in

  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Understanding of Children's Home Regulations and safeguarding standards
  • Full UK driving licence
