About The Role

We at PEI Group are seeking a Senior Research Manager, GP Engagement to join our growing diverse and welcoming team in London. The successful candidate will lead a team of researchers responsible for sourcing, validating and publishing proprietary data directly from private markets fund managers globally.

This is a results‑driven role with clear ownership of performance. The successful candidate will define and track key performance indicators, and put in place measures to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery. The role demands high levels of self‑motivation, the ability to lead by example, first‑rate organisational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate will be comfortable engaging with senior investment executives globally.

People Management
  • Recruit, lead and develop a team of researchers responsible for engaging (by phone, email and in person) with fund managers globally.
  • Set clear expectations and performance objectives aligned with wider business and product strategy.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on team and individual performance, ensuring delivery against key performance indicators.
  • Lead by example and manage others in a results‑driven environment.
Market Interactions
  • Build and maintain relationships with private markets professionals at fund management firms through regular phone, email and in person engagement.
  • Develop and execute effective engagement strategies to increase both the volume and quality of proprietary data sourced from the global fund manager community.
  • Represent the business professionally in external interactions, reinforcing trust, credibility and long‑term data partnerships.
Content and Data Delivery
  • Oversee the collection and population of proprietary fund manager data into PEI’s structured databases, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
  • Ensure data gathered meets defined quality standards and supports customer use cases.
Key Relationships
  • Work closely with research colleagues in the local office and across international teams to ensure consistent approaches and best practice.
  • Build strong working relationships with editorial, sales, events and marketing teams, aligning GP engagement activity with broader commercial and content objectives.
Success Measures
  • Own the definition, tracking, and delivery of key success measures for the GP Engagement team.
  • Key metrics will include activity levels (e.g. outbound calls and emails), the number and quality of successful fund manager interactions, and the volume and value of proprietary data sourced.
  • Measure and improve fund manager satisfaction and appreciation of the content and data produced.
