Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Repairs Operations Manager in Greenwich to oversee the Council's responsive repairs service for occupied properties. You will lead a large-scale operation across around 25,000 council homes, driving quality, safety and timely delivery.

The role focuses on strategic planning, performance management and workforce development, with 35 hours per week and a 3-month contract with a local authority.

Qualifications

• Significant management experience in housing, property maintenance, repairs, construction, or similar operations.
• Experience leading large multi-disciplinary repairs and maintenance operations.
• Proven budget management, forecasting and cost control capabilities.
• Track record of delivering high-quality, compliant housing services.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the responsive repairs service for occupied Council properties.
• Supervise a multi-disciplinary repairs operation covering around 25,000 properties.
• Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards within timelines.
• Collaborate with operational teams and DLO services for delivery.
• Monitor performance through planning, performance management and continuous improvement.
• Manage and develop a large operational workforce, including up to 6 direct reports and about 125 indirect reports.
• Lead recruitment, retention, performance management and workforce development.
• Foster a positive, customer-focused, high-performance culture.
• Support apprenticeships, mentoring, coaching and career development opportunities.
