Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Rehabilitation Assistant to join the OAK Unit at Trafford Hospital within the AHP Division.

You will work as part of a dynamic, well-established multidisciplinary team, including a Clinical Lead and experienced Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. We work collaboratively to deliver holistic, patient-centred therapy interventions.

In this role, you will support the assessment and rehabilitation of patients within the OAK Unit and across the Trafford site as needed.

As a Band 4 Senior Rehabilitation Assistant, you will play an active role in service development and quality improvement initiatives. You will also assist with day-to-day administrative duties to support the smooth running of the service.

The Trust operates a weekend service and all staff are expected to participate in the rota on a basis of 1:4 weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Following assessment of competency, provide assessments and interventions for your own caseload of patients with routine clinical needs, following agreed treatment pathways.
  • Support patients with more complex needs under the supervision and guidance of a qualified therapist.
  • Assist with therapy interventions across inpatient wards.
  • Undertake administrative and stock control duties to support the Allied Health Professional services.
  • Support community-based activities including environmental and home assessments.
  • Participate in moving and handling of patients.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records.
  • Contribute to the weekend working rota.
  • Participate in service development and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and service delivery.
