A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support on various highways schemes in the Berkshire area. The successful candidate will manage subcontract procurement and ensure timely contract administration. Candidates should have relevant industry qualifications and experience in commercial management, with strong knowledge of NEC contracts. Senior Quantity Surveyor – Highway

Salary: £50000-60000

Location: South East

Regions: Berkshire, South East

We are working with a leading civil engineering contractor that specialises in the highways and civils sector. Working under a wide variety of Highways England frameworks across the UK.

They are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support on a number of schemes within the Berkshire area.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining subcontract procurement schedule
  • Procure subcontract packages
  • Commercially manage subcontract packages
  • Ensuring necessary main contract notices are issued on time
  • Administration and valuation of contract change & compensation events
  • Identifying and inputting into value engineering
  • Maintain project forecast
  • Preparing assessments and applications for payment
  • Input into financial reports for project management
  • Input into CVR / cost report and cash flow information
  • Agree final accounts
  • Input into claims where required
  • Provide commercial advice across the team

You will also have strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract, experience of commercial management and procurement of subcontractors along with the ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting.

Relevant Industry qualification (Minimum HND/HNC). BEng/BSc or equivalent preferred and ideally previous experience of working for a contractor in the highways sector
