Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Cost Management team. You will deliver pre- and post-contract QS services across a varied portfolio, ensuring cost control and robust commercial performance for clients.

You will lead procurement, manage contracts and variations and provide commercial guidance to project teams. The role offers hybrid working, clear career progression and ongoing professional development including

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Chartered membership of RICS or commitment towards achieving chartership.
• Experience delivering both pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services.
• Strong understanding of procurement, cost management and commercial reporting.
• Experience working with JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Knowledge of recognised methods of measurement, including NRM.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and contribute to a wider project team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-contract quantity surveying across a varied portfolio of projects.
• Monitor project costs, validate payments and assess financial accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain detailed cost plans, budgets and forecasts.
• Produce regular financial reports, updating clients on performance and risks.
• Lead procurement activities, tender documentation and contractor appointments.
• Administer contracts and manage variations within agreed timescales.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and contribute to value engineering.
• Support project managers and stakeholders with documentation and records.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to team development.
