Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Cost Management team in the West Midlands. You will deliver pre- and post-contract QS services across a diverse project portfolio in education, commercial, industrial, retail and aviation.

Working with clients, project managers and contractors, you will manage costs, risks and procurement, mentor junior colleagues and contribute to bid work and business development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• MRICS membership or strong commitment toward achieving chartership.
• Experience delivering pre- and post-contract QS services.
• Sound understanding of procurement, cost management and reporting.
• Experience with JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Knowledge of measurement methods (NRM).
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-contract QS services across a varied project portfolio.
• Monitor project costs, validate applications and assess payments.
• Prepare and maintain cost plans, budgets and forecasts.
• Produce regular financial reports for clients on performance and risks.
• Lead procurement activities, tender documentation and contractor appointments.
• Administer contracts and manage variations within timelines.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and support value engineering.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to bids and business development.
