Aldwych Consulting in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Cost Management team. You will manage pre- and post-contract cost control across a diverse portfolio including education, commercial, industrial and aviation projects.

Working on UK-wide schemes with a hybrid working arrangement, you will lead procurement, ensure contract compliance, monitor value and risk, and mentor junior colleagues while developing client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Chartered membership of RICS or strong toward chartership.
• Experience delivering pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services.
• Sound understanding of procurement, cost management and commercial reporting.
• Experience working with JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Knowledge of recognised methods of measurement (NRM).
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and contribute within a project team.
• Proactive and commercially focused approach with a commitment to high-quality outcomes for clients.

Responsabilités

• Deliver pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services across a varied portfolio of construction projects.
• Monitor project costs, validate contractor and supplier applications, and assess payments for financial accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain detailed cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts.
• Produce regular financial reports with updates on performance, expenditure and commercial risks.
• Support and lead procurement activities, including tender documentation, tender evaluation and contractor appointments.
• Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with requirements and procedures.
• Review and manage variations, assess quotations and changes within timescales.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and commercial records.
• Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, project managers and teams.
• Mentor junior colleagues and share knowledge to develop capabilities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best practice; assist with bids and client development.
