Job summary

A leading consultancy in the UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position based in the North West. The successful candidate will manage application and credit control processes, oversee costing and forecasting, and provide commercial advice to the Project Team. Candidates must be experienced Quantity Surveyors, ideally degree educated, with substantial post-degree experience and a working knowledge of construction contracts. Training an Assistant Quantity Surveyor will also be part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experienced Quantity Surveyor with substantial post degree experience.
• Working towards a Professional Qualification.
• Working knowledge of construction industry conditions of contract.

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis based in the North West.

Role Summary

• Management of application and credit control processes – Management of optimisation of income.
• Management of all processes with regard to costing and forecasting.
• Management of change control system.
• Input into the management of project risk.
• Management of CTC and CVRs.
• Management of the full sub-contract cycle.
• Provision of commercial advice to Project Team.
• Development of team spirit and trustworthiness within Project Commercial Team and with Client and S/C.
• Management of dispute resolution.
• Communications within the Project Commercial Team and with the Project Team.
• Management of Training plans – Input into the tendering process.
• Training an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
• Working away from home 1 – 2 nights per week.
• Travel to multiple Renewables projects around the UK.

Requirements

• Experienced Quantity Surveyor.
• Degree educated or HND/HNC equivalent.
• Working towards Professional Qualification.
• Substantial post degree experience working in contracting commercial department.
• Working knowledge of construction industry conditions of contract.
• Proficient in Microsoft packages (Excel).
• Confident in Training & Coaching.
