Job summary

A leading international engineering and construction firm in Greater London seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate will manage commercial reporting, prepare valuations, and administer subcontractor accounts. Candidates should possess an HND or degree, experience in civil engineering, and solid knowledge of NEC contracts. Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Quantity Surveyor aiming for senior role.
  • Solid knowledge of NEC Contracts.
  • Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership.
  • Experience in civil engineering and/or major construction projects.

Responsibilities

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Day in the Life

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will:

  • Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance
  • Manage internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
  • Prepare valuations / applications for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
  • Oversee cost reports to the client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
  • Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules
  • Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts
  • Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
  • Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements
  • Measure quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement as required
Qualifications
  • HND/Degree qualification
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a times served Quantity Surveyor looking to step up
  • Solid knowledge across NEC Contracts
  • Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership
  • Experience on civil engineering and/or major construction projects
