Overview

Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
East London
Permanent
Salary: £70,000

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team based in East London. You\'ll be responsible for managing commercial projects from pre-contract through to completion, ensuring profitability, compliance, and client satisfaction. This is a key leadership role where you\'ll guide surveyors, support senior commercial managers, and help drive commercial success across projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Quantity Surveyors and support the wider commercial team
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and client counterparts
• Oversee commercial projects from pre-contract stage through to final accounts
• Manage sub-contracts including tendering, awarding, and monthly payment assessments
• Produce accurate forecasts, CVRs, and final accounts
• Ensure all internal and client processes are followed to minimise commercial risk
• Accurately value completed work and ensure timely cash collection
• A company car or car allowance is included in the role, so a full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 penalty points) is required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Essential: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Surveying
• Essential: NEC TSC contract experience and knowledge of ICC Term Contracts
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills
• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Strong numeracy, analytical, written, and presentation skills
• A process-driven approach with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders
