Job summary

A global leader in intelligent transport systems is seeking a Senior Product Support Engineer to drive serviceability and deliver technical support for Traffic and EVCI products. The role also involves maintaining relationships with internal and external customers, as well as identifying opportunities for business growth. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of Yunex Traffic products and systems, be able to communicate effectively at all levels, and possess traffic-related knowledge. Responsibilities
  • Drive serviceability with the Product Development teams to assist in the development, testing and rollout of new Traffic and EVCI products and services.
  • Deliver technical support in a timely manner on Traffic and EVCI products to Field Services, Tendering / Sales, HSQE and Project Delivery engaging with the relevant experts in Engineering where necessary.
  • Maintain close working relationships with all internal customers.
  • Proactive working relationships with Yunex Traffic external customers.
  • Work with key stakeholders to drive Field Services efficiency and productivity improvements projects.
  • Grow our Remote Support capabilities with both the Service Operation Centre and field operatives.
  • Driving Process Improvements into installation techniques and maintenance contracts.
  • Working with the team to drive Technical Support projects to completion.
  • Occasional travel to all parts of the UK along with occasional overseas visits.
  • Seeking / identifying opportunities for new business and escalating where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of the business via support of local contracts and customer liaison.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Yunex Traffic Products, Systems and Networks.
  • Continuous personal knowledge and expertise development to ensure that as a member of the Technical Support team you are a trusted expert in your field.
  • Problem solving often complex scenarios and implementing change to prevent future occurrence.
  • The ability to communicate internally and externally at all levels, both written and verbal. Must be able to establish rapport quickly.
  • Preparation of reports at a complex level using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments and present information in a variety of formats to suit the needs of the audience.
  • Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of IET regulations and experience of electrical systems.
  • This role is predominantly reactive in respect of the departmental workload. Work to own initiative and plan workload to achieve required results, balancing planned projects with regular support contact.
  • Analyse, develop and implement solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Work to deadlines, monitor and report on own progress as part of a team.
  • Interpret information from disparate sources and communicate via structured reporting.
  • Support all the HSQE processes; ensure the company and employees' safety are not compromised.
  • Support Yunex Traffic accreditation under the NHSS scheme and develop processes, technology and tools to enhance safety and working conditions.
  • Essential: Traffic related knowledge and onsite experience.
  • Minimum education: HNC, ONC or equivalent.
