Job Description

JOB TITLE: Senior Product Owner

Your Role

Are you ready to shape the future of advertising technology and make an impact that reaches millions worldwide? As a Senior Product Owner at Global’s Digital Advertising Exchange (DAX), you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering cutting‑edge solutions that power advertising across Global’s network and major partners around the world. With multiple media types (Audio and DOOH) this is one of the most technically advanced areas within the business, spanning low latency java, complex matching logic and high volume data streaming to name but a few. The product function is fully embedded as a key part of our cross‑functional squad setup; working closely with engineers, design/UX and stakeholders. The pace of change in this sector is rapid so focussing on shipping value early is essential, whilst also making ample time for discovery. Balancing this combination and maintaining a clear focus on outcomes is what drives our success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a subject matter expert for DAX, understanding the technical workings of our platforms with the ability to explain this to others through diagrams and data analysis/visualisations
  • Lead the end‑to‑end product process from inception, through discovery, prototyping, development, testing and iteration.
  • Drive discovery of future features through data analysis, user/system testing and subject matter knowledge of the industry. Then share your findings with the squad to ensure they can see what is coming down the track.
  • Continually curate and prioritise your ideas and backlog, feeding in research and discovery to ensure you are focussing on the features which will drive most value for our business and users.
  • Understand how to ship value early, sequencing features and releases to allow for learning, iteration and shorter feedback loops.
  • The ability to identify and remove blockers or inefficiencies, allowing you and your squad to deliver efficiently.
  • Close collaboration within your squad, department and the wider business stakeholders.
  • Work with other leaders in Tech and Commercial to shape the future of our business strategy.
  • Facilitate the Agile process such as writing clear user stories/tickets with requirements that adequately define the desired outcome, run sprint planning, refinement, demos and retrospectives.
  • Working alongside engineers and QAs assist in troubleshooting of issues, helping to identify and isolate potential causes then work towards a fix ASAP.
What You’ll Love About This Role
  • Think Big: Our ambitions are big, so yours must be too. Building Ad Tech for use across the world means we are competing against some big companies (you know the ones), so you’ll need to leverage all your expertise and knowledge
  • Own It: Our Tech teams have a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, allowing you to influence what we build and how we do it. You’ll further reinforce this through building relationships to foster effective collaboration and ensuring our product processes are transparent.
  • Keep It Simple: We work on technically complex areas but not everyone can be an expert in the low level detail. You’ll use your knowledge and communications skills to break down complex concepts into clear, engaging, and easily digestible content.
  • Better Together: You’ll be part of a diverse team, and have an opportunity to work alongside highly talented colleagues to deliver our most important business outcomes.
What Success Looks Like

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Clear view of the products near / longer term plans and how they feed into the wider department and business strategy. Ensuring your squad’s features ladder up into measurable OKRs that will drive value to the business.
  • Good understanding of your area of work, including high level architecture, key metrics / dimensions, and built strong relationships with other tech teams and stakeholders.
  • Facilitated the relevant squad ceremonies (e.g. planning, demo, retro) and worked with the squad to understand any changes/improvements that could be made to ways of working.
  • Lead discovery work on a new feature, taking an idea to a well researched and defined hypothesis and then breaking this down with the squad into deliverable chunks.
What You’ll Need
  • 5+ years of experience working with enterprise/B2B/SaaS solutions.
  • Deep understanding of advertising technology from Ad Servers or DSPs.
  • High data literacy, allowing you to query and analyse large and complex data sets.
  • Good organisational skills to ensure you can effectively work across different threads and in different ways (e.g. discovery/delivery).
  • Able to make rational data‑driven decisions across complex projects in fast‑paced environments, articulating why this is the direction you would recommend.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to turn data and user insights into compelling stories to take stakeholders on a journey and motivate your team.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity, using your experience and knowledge to adapt quickly, drive forward and make decisions across intricate products.
