• Tesco private Cloud (TPC), the underlying infrastructure that powers the business ensuring our customers in the UK, Ireland and Central Europe can be served both in-store and online.

• We invest in various fields and technologies to build outstanding developer experiences for Tesco’s customers.

About the Role

We're searching for an imaginative and user‑centered UX/UI Designer to join our diverse team. You’ll be responsible for crafting intuitive, engaging, and accessible digital experiences across web and mobile platforms, working closely with product managers, developers, and other collaborators to bring user‑centric solutions to fruition.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Join the transformation and create best‑in‑class developer‑facing experiences for all things infrastructure.
• Work alongside product, engineers, and internal development teams to craft best‑in‑class experiences for our developers.
• Lead the development of 0‑1 product experiences, specifically focused on our Infrastructure Portal, the one‑stop shop for our engineers.
• Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to understand user needs.
• Translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs.
• Design user interfaces that align with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to iterate and refine designs.
• Create and maintain design systems and component libraries.
• Share build concepts and reasoning with collaborators.
• Stay informed about UX/UI trends, tools, and standard methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience

• A strong, well‑curated portfolio demonstrating your expertise across web, responsive and native design.
• Passion for solving product problems while balancing all facets of a user experience (strategy and research, information architecture, interaction design, accessibility).
• Experience in high‑profile design projects, ideally in an enterprise environment.
• Understanding of the end‑to‑end iterative design process, including design research, journey mapping, wire‑framing, prototyping, and user testing to achieve human‑centred design solutions.
• Proficiency in interaction design for web (desktop and mobile) and native applications.
• Experience designing with accessibility in mind and meeting WCAG 2.1 level AA.
• Proficiency with current industry design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Jira and Confluence.
• Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills at all levels of seniority.
• Self‑motivated, organised, and with good time‑management skills.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and set standards for ways of working for junior team members.
• Prior experience in infrastructure is an advantage.
