Job summary

A leading infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee large-scale projects across the South West. This key leadership role involves managing procurement strategies and a capable team, ensuring compliance, and driving value. Ideal candidates will have a robust background in infrastructure procurement and be eligible for UK security clearance. The position offers a competitive salary of £65,000 to £75,000 alongside a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in procurement within the infrastructure or civil engineering sectors.
  • Strong understanding of subcontractor, plant, and materials procurement.
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team.
  • Knowledge of procurement frameworks, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
  • Eligibility for UK security clearance (must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years).

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement strategies across multiple infrastructure and construction packages.
  • Take ownership of subcontract, plant, and materials procurement from tender to award.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Lead a team of four direct reports, providing mentorship and support.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations and manage risk and compliance.
  • Ensure procurement meets legal and organizational compliance standards.
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of Procurement.
