Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of mechanical solutions for water resource projects across the UK, from feasibility studies to major capital programmes.

You will mentor developing engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and drive innovation, sustainability and technical excellence, with hybrid working and opportunities across major water frameworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with IMechE or equivalent, or eligible to become chartered within 12 months.
• Experience leading technical delivery within water sector or transferable industry environments.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills with collaborative problem solving.
• Commitment to innovation, sustainability and technical excellence.
• Experience in design integration of mechanical equipment (pumps, blowers, screens, dosing systems).

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery on mechanical engineering solutions for water resource projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, sustainable, and innovative engineering outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance, support, and assurance to engineers and technicians, mentoring and coaching others.
• Develop and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings, and design packages for high-quality delivery.
• Build strong relationships with project teams, clients, stakeholders and partners.
• Contribute to innovation and adoption of new technologies and value for clients and communities.
• Identify opportunities within the Practice to create additional value for clients.
