Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Water team and lead mechanical delivery across major infrastructure projects in the UK. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary groups, and contribute to asset improvements and capital programmes with a focus on sustainability and innovation.

The role offers hybrid working with office/site presence three days a week, and opportunities to work on nationally significant projects such as

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with IMechE or equivalent OR ability to pursue Chartership within 12 months.
• Proven experience leading technical delivery in water sector or transferable industry.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Commitment to innovation, sustainability and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions for water resource projects across all project stages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, sustainable, and innovative designs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians within project teams.
• Develop and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and design packages.
• Build relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners.
• Contribute to innovation and adoption of new technologies.
• Identify opportunities to create additional value for clients and communities.
