Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Water team, delivering sustainable solutions for major infrastructure and water resource projects across the UK.

As a senior leader, you will guide technical delivery, mentor engineers, and work with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure high-quality design packages, robust calculations, and compelling reports.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Comprehensive experience in design integration of pumps, blowers, screens, and chemical dosing systems.
• Proven track record delivering multidisciplinary projects in the water sector or transferable industries.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with IMechE, or clear plan to become chartered within 12 months.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of mechanical engineering solutions for water resource projects across the full lifecycle.
• Mentor developing engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Develop and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and design packages.
• Build strong relationships with project teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovation, sustainability and adoption of new technologies.
• Identify opportunities to create additional value for clients and communities.
