Job summary

the company is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our engineering team and champion the deployment architecture that drives platform maturity. You’ll be embedded within our teams, optimizing delivery across our on-premise estate while shaping and rolling out our Kubernetes platform.

This hands-on role offers real impact and autonomy over CI/CD pipelines, gates, and migration strategies to safely and rapidly ship value to production.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; teamwork is paramount.
• Strong experience with Ansible: roles, inventories, vault, idempotency.
• Comfortable with Docker and Docker Compose in production environments.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Strong scripting ability: Bash and Python.
• Experience with GitOps tooling: ArgoCD or Flux.
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager or equivalent).
• Ability to think creatively within constraints and plan pragmatically around them.
• Methodical, security-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Utilise Ansible-based deployment automation for feature releases and adhere to TechOps review processes.
• Monitor cluster health and drive post-mortems for engineering-led deployments.
• Maintain deployment runbooks, docs, and self-service guides to streamline onboarding and releases.
• Represent Engineering in platform design; contribute to Kubernetes guardrails and standards.
• Build CI/CD workflows for Kubernetes deployments with automated guardrails.
• Set up application observability and alerting within namespaces for visibility.
• Document deployment templates and best practices for self-service.
