Job summary

The company is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team and champion the deployment architecture for our Kubernetes platform. You’ll be embedded with engineering teams, optimizing day-to-day delivery across our on-premise estate and shaping rollout strategies.

You’ll own CI/CD pipelines, guardrails, and migration plans, enabling fast, safe delivery while maintaining platform stability and security. Strong Ansible and Kubernetes experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills: we're a people-first culture where teamwork is paramount. On highly technical projects with many moving parts, the ability to collaborate openly, communicate clearly, and bring people with you is just as important as technical ability
• Strong, demonstrable experience with Ansible: roles, inventories, vault, idempotency, the lot
• Comfortable with Docker and Docker Compose in production environments
• Understanding of networking fundamentals
• Strong scripting ability: Bash and Python
• Experience with GitOps tooling: ArgoCD or Flux
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager or equivalent)
• Ability to think creatively within constraints and plan pragmatically around them: our stack is real-world, not greenfield-perfect, and we need someone who can deliver iteratively
• A methodical, security-conscious approach

Responsibilities

• BAU & Platform Stability: Maintain deployment automation, monitor health, write runbooks and self-service guides
• Kubernetes: design platform, standardise configurations, migrate workloads to Kubernetes
• Build robust deployment pipelines: establish CI/CD for Kubernetes with guardrails
• Implement application observability: metrics, logging, alerting inside namespaces
• Create developer self-service documentation: runbooks, templates, best practices
