Job summary

A leading civil engineering contractor in Scotland is seeking a Senior Planner to lead energy transmission projects. You will develop detailed work programmes, mentor your team, and ensure project efficiency. Applicants should hold an HND in Civil Engineering and have essential planning experience with main contractors. Senior Planner

Glasgow / Inverness

Join an established, reputable Civil Engineering Contractor where you will play a key role in delivering energy transmission projects in North Scotland.

This role requires a 'hands on' individual who likes to be heavily involved in a project from day 1. You will lead the development of detailed programmes in P6, support and mentor the wider planning team, review drawings and produce material take-offs to calculate activity duration.

This role will involve travel to Inverness at times; living away and subsistence are paid if travelling.

What you'll need:
  • A qualification in Civil Engineering/Construction to HND level or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in an operational role as a Section Engineer/Sub-Agent preferable.
  • Experience of working for a main contractor in a planning role essential.
  • Experience of working in the energy sector preferred.
  • Experience of working with P6 and MS Project.
  • Experience of using time chainage software is desirable but not essential.
  • A good understanding of NEC contracts.
