Job summary

A leading healthcare trust in Hull is seeking a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join their Acute Medicine Team. This role requires at least 12 months NHS experience and a strong understanding of acute care. You will be responsible for supporting assessments and treatments for in-patients while contributing to the team's operational management. The position includes opportunities for teaching and service planning, working up to 8pm, and participating in a 7-day service. Professional registration with HCPC is a must.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months NHS/UK experience in Acute Medicine.
  • Confidence as Band 5 or existing Band 6 Physiotherapist with post-graduate UK experience.
  • Current HCPC registration is required.

Responsibilities

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join our team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Professionals and Therapy Assistants working in our Acute Medicine Team at Hull Royal Infirmary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support therapy assessments and interventions for in-patients on our acute medicine and frailty wards, promoting recovery and reducing deconditioning on some of the most acute clinical areas.
  • Deliver the assessment and treatment of patients who present within acute care and take on a level of day-to-day responsibility in the team, supporting the Clinical Lead therapists to support the team and develop the service.
  • Work alongside colleagues to support the 7 day service, bank holiday cover, Respiratory On-call cover and the late shift until 8pm on the admission avoidance areas.
  • Self‑motivated and aspirational, assess in an effective and timely manner in a rapid‑paced environment, maintaining patient safety with appropriate escalation processes.
  • Contribute to service planning, development and teaching, providing operational management skills and acting as a role model for the team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 12 months proven NHS/UK experience, with a strong affinity for the clinical speciality of Acute Medicine.
  • Confidence and experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist, or an existing Band 6 Physiotherapist with post‑graduate UK experience.
  • Current professional registration (HCPC) is required for this post.
