Senior Pharmacy Technician - Dispensary

An opportunity has arisen for a registered pharmacy technician to join our well established dispensary team.

The successful candidate will be based in the dispensary providing a quality pharmacy service to wards and community clinics across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for ensuring that the department runs efficiently, working closely with the other senior pharmacy technicians within the department, the dispensary manager and lead ATOs.

  • Assisting and deputising for the Dispensary Manager
  • Dispensing and final accuracy checking for inpatients and outpatients
  • Ensuring the team functions efficiently, coordinating workflow
  • Supervision and training on new and pre-registration staff
  • Assisting in overseeing stock control
  • Supporting audit and quality improvement initiatives

Job responsibilities

With a base at The Wells Road Centre, Nottingham the successful candidate will need to be flexible because there may be a requirement to work across Nottinghamshire Healthcare.

Ideally, you should have post qualification experience at band 4 or above working in a hospital pharmacy. Experience in a mental health setting is desirable but not essential as full training and support will be given.
