A leading digital service provider is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a hybrid role based in the Southwest, including Plymouth and Exeter. The position involves overseeing connectivity and communications platforms while ensuring system security and efficiency. Applicants should have substantial experience in an ITIL-aligned environment and strong expertise in technologies like firewalls and SD-WAN. The role offers a salary of £50,000 - £56,000 p.a. plus a performance bonus and generous benefits including holiday allowance and pension contributions.
Location: Southwest / Hybrid – Based from either Plymouth, Exeter, or Weston‑Super‑Mare
Contract Type: Full time, Permanent (37 hours per week)
At Delt, we don’t just provide IT; we deliver digital services that make a real difference to the lives of people across the Southwest. Our teams support thousands of users across the Southwest, ensuring technology works seamlessly so our customers can focus on the people and communities they serve.
As a Senior Network & Telephony Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering, supporting and evolving the core connectivity and communications platforms that Delt provides to its customers.
Working in a complex, multi‑tenant enterprise environment, you’ll take ownership of a defined set of systems, ensuring they remain secure, available, resilient and efficient. You’ll lead on operational improvements, project delivery, incident resolution and system optimisation — while also providing technical guidance and direction to more junior engineers.
This is a hands‑on senior engineering role with genuine influence. You’ll act as a subject matter expert, shaping standards, feeding into architecture decisions, and ensuring services are fit for both today and what’s coming next.
Please note, this is a hybrid opportunity that will involve travel onsite to customers based across Plymouth, Exeter, Devon & North Somerset. Due to this, we will only be considering applicants based in the Southwest.
You’ll be an experienced, confident engineer who’s comfortable operating at senior level in an enterprise environment and enjoys taking ownership rather than waiting for instruction.
Delt is a commercial company owned by the public sector and run for the benefit of the public. Everything we do supports better health, better care and better value for the communities we serve. If you want to do work that matters, in an environment that’s ambitious, inclusive, and genuinely different, this could be your next step.
You’ll be part of a purpose‑driven team that values trust, flexibility and innovation. We’re proud to be one of the UK’s most loved workplaces, supporting thousands of professionals who rely on our services every day.
Deadline for applications : Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, so please apply early to avoid disappointment.
