Job summary

Hastings Direct is hiring a Senior Risk Pricing Manager for the motor portfolio. The role combines technical pricing models with strategic leadership to ensure robust, compliant and commercially effective pricing decisions.

Hybrid work across London, Bexhill, and Leicester supports collaboration with Underwriting, Finance, and Analytics teams. You will own pricing model development and governance, overseeing GLMs and ML approaches while driving pricing improvements and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Strong experience in general insurance pricing, preferably UK motor.
• Deep technical expertise in statistical modelling (GLMs; ML exposure).
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end pricing initiatives.
• Strong understanding of regulatory/governance requirements (GIPP).
• Excellent communication skills with senior leadership influence.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and deployment of risk pricing strategies across the motor portfolio.
• Drive pricing sophistication, segmentation and predictive capability.
• Oversee pricing model development (GLMs, ML) and ensure robustness.
• Ensure governance, documentation, and auditability of pricing activity.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Retail, Finance and Analytics teams.
• Present pricing strategy and performance to ExCo and CPC.
• Monitor pricing performance and identify strategic adjustments.
• Lead and develop a team of Pricing Managers and Analysts.
