Job summary

Hastings Direct is recruiting a Senior Risk Pricing Manager for motor to lead pricing model development, deployment, and governance across the portfolio. The role combines deep technical pricing expertise with strategic leadership to ensure robust, commercially effective decisions within regulatory requirements.

You will drive pricing strategies, oversee advanced modelling, and collaborate with Underwriting, Retail, Finance and Analytics teams to optimise performance and support sustainable

Qualifications

• Strong experience in general insurance pricing, preferably UK motor.
• Expertise in statistical modelling (GLMs) with exposure to ML desirable.
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end pricing initiatives.
• Understanding of regulatory and governance requirements (GIPP).
• Excellent communication and ability to influence senior leadership.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and deployment of motor pricing strategies.
• Oversee development of pricing models (GLMs, ML) and ensure robustness.
• Translate analytical outputs for senior stakeholders.
• Maintain governance and compliance across pricing activity.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Retail, Finance and Analytics teams.
• Monitor pricing performance and drive improvements.
