Job summary

Hastings Direct is expanding its Pricing, Data and Analytics community in the UK, offering Senior Pricing Analyst roles across Risk Pricing, Retail Pricing and Telematics. You will shape segmented pricing, influence portfolio performance, and deliver high‑quality analytical insights with visibility and ownership of your work.

The role requires strong analytical skills, pricing knowledge, and proficiency in Python/SQL/R/SAS.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with experience in pricing, modelling, or quantitative analysis.
• Good understanding of general insurance pricing principles, including segmentation and performance monitoring.
• Proficiency in analytical tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, R, SAS).
• Ability to break down complex problems and present insights clearly and concisely.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence through evidence‑based insight.
• Curious, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop pricing segmentation to improve loss ratio and trading performance.
• Build monitoring frameworks to track portfolio health and pricing effectiveness.
• Identify optimisation opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with underwriting, commercial and data teams to influence strategy and regulatory expectations.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for non‑technical colleagues.
