Job description

The Senior Motor Control Systems Engineer will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary design team, owning the design, development, and testing of control algorithms to meet customer performance requirements.

Job Title: Senior Motor Control Systems Engineer

Salary: Competitive depending on experience

Location: Stevenage (relocation package may be available)

Working Arrangement: Hybrid, 2-3 days on-site per week

Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship; successful candidates will undergo BPSS checks.

The Opportunity:

The Senior Motor Control Systems Engineer will:

• Develop control algorithms for analogue and digital systems, mainly for BLDC motors
• Model systems and analyze control performance
• Derive sub-system requirements across mechanical, electronic, and software domains
• Identify suitable electro-mechanical components in collaboration with suppliers
• Define testing plans and analyze data for system validation

What We're Looking For:

Essential Skills:

• Experience in control algorithm design for digital systems
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Embedded Coder, especially for BLDC motor control
• Ability to model electronic and mechanical systems
• Strong communication skills

Desirable Skills:

• Ability to derive subsystem requirements from customer needs
• Knowledge of electric motor control strategies like FOC or SVPWM
• Understanding of DO-178C or DO-331 standards
