Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Belfast is seeking a Senior/Lead Mechanical Design Engineer. The successful candidate will manage multiple mechanical projects, lead a team of engineers, and work closely with the office MEP Director. This role requires over 4 years of mechanical design experience, preferably within an MEPH consultancy. The company offers a strong career path to Associate within 12-18 months and an exciting opportunity to be part of notable projects in various sectors including commercial and residential.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Experience in an MEPH consultancy preferred.
  • Ability to lead projects and manage small teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical projects and manage a team of engineers.
  • Assist in RIBA stages from preparation to handover.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Our client is a leading building services engineering consultancy who have been at the heart of building services industry for over 40 years. They are now seeking an enthusiastic Senior/ Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, based in their Belfast office. Their projects variation includes Commercial, Education, Hotels, Residential, Shopping Centres and Mixed Use. This role is a lead mechanical engineer role where you will have responsibility for 3 other intermediate and senior mechanical engineers on projects, working closely with the office MEP Director. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a brand name within the industry with the opportunity to become an Associate within 12 - 18 months.

The ideal candidate will need to have the motivation to work independently across all varied projects and have previously worked within an MEPH consultancy. The ability to lead projects, manage small teams and assist large ones, including client facing activities from RIBA Stage 1 preparation to Stage 6 Handover.

Role will include:
  • Using design software in relation to the discipline
  • Revit experience preferred (but not necessary)
  • Project Management
  • A sound technical knowledge of all Mechanical systems, and an understanding of sub-consultant works.
  • Provide mentorship to young engineers within the mechanical team.
  • 4+ years' experience (minimum)
