Job summary

A manufacturing company in Frimley is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvements in productivity and quality. The ideal candidate will have an HND/HNC in Engineering or a related field and experience as a Production Engineer. Key responsibilities include working on R&D projects, improving production processes, and maintaining detailed documentation. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary between £50,000-£60,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience working as a Production Engineer within product development in a similar environment.
  • Be able to read engineering drawings.
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Working on both existing and new R&D projects.
  • Create and maintain controlled documentation like Process flows and BOMs.
  • Work closely with the Lean team to develop and implement best practices.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

LOCATION: Frimley
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: £50,000-£60,000 dependent on experience

My client is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Frimley area. The role will involve identifying bottlenecks and eliminating non-value added activities making improvements to productivity, cost, quality and health & safety.

Qualifications
  • HND/HNC qualified or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science or a related field
  • Experience working as a Production Engineer within product development in a similar environment
  • Be able to read engineering drawings
  • Experience of using 2D/3D CAD (would be beneficial)
  • Proactive hands on problem solver
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Responsibilities
  • Working on both existing and new R&D projects
  • Create and maintain controlled documentation such as Process flows, tool drawings, component specs, BOMs and work instructions
  • Work closely with the Lean team to develop and implement best practices, routines and solutions to improve production rates, Quality and output
  • Come up with innovative manufacturing solutions for parts, designing jigs and fixtures where necessary
  • Assembly and wire electro-mechanical assemblies with reference to assembly drawings, BOMs and wiring/schematic drawings
  • Participate in NPI reviews to ensure only most production efficient designs are released into production
  • Delivering continuous improvement, operational excellence, and lean improvements
  • Identify & present ideas for improving production processes to improve profitability, quality and throughput or H&S
