Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage teams of 100-150+ and service level targets. Provide guidance to direct reports, comprised of Managers, Assistant Managers, and key SMEs.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on trends in the key underwriting performance drivers.
• Lead weekly/monthly/quarterly discussions on operations with client UW and company stakeholders.
• Understand risks faced by the function and the controls in place to manage and mitigate the risks.
• Ensure clarity around priorities and goals for the entire functional area.
• Function effectively in a team environment exercising good judgment.
• Work with senior management and other peers for strategy development and execution planning.
• Guide the talent identification and development processes for a function.
• Approve hiring and redeployment requests within the group.
• Conduct root cause analysis on escalations received.
• Possess very good problem‑solving skills & attention to detail.
• Accurately interpret and compile information from a variety of sources and systems.
• Meet outlined and expected standards of timeliness and accuracy in completion of work.

Qualifications

• Any graduate with experience leading underwriting teams of 50-70+ as a minimum.
• Relevant experience in Delegated Authority‑UK and Lloyd's Underwriting support function for P&C Insurance Industry (Lloyd's Underwriting – Quote Log / Policy Issuance / Endorsements).
• Proficient underwriting market experience in BPO delivery.
• Data analysis skills - proficient.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Fluent in English language - both written and oral.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, specifically MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

• Knowledge of Bureau / Non‑Bureau market.
• Good understanding of Delegated Authority- London Insurance Market.
