Job summary

The University of Sheffield AMRC IT Team is seeking a Senior IT Technician to join a highly technical, project-focused environment. You will be the embedded specialist for diverse projects, providing robust IT support and ensuring systems meet project needs.

You will work across support, infrastructure, operations and information security, promoting best practices, security governance and risk reduction while maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships and proactive service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Work with project teams, research groups and IT to support and maintain IT systems for staff and facilities.
• Adhere to information and cyber security policies governing IT systems and processes.
• Be flexible and proactive in liaising with stakeholders to understand project requirements.
• Act as primary contact for projects within the IT team.
• Work with a range of standard and specialist IT hardware and software.
• Perform first, second and third line support, escalating as needed.
• Demonstrate team-working, communication and stakeholder engagement skills with excellent digital literacy.
• Improve project IT processes to increase security and compliance while reducing risk.
