Job summary

The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) is seeking a technical, proactive IT/AV Technician to join the IT support team. You will provide second line IT/AV support to a diverse user base across helpdesk, remote and face-to-face channels, with occasional travel to other sites in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering 1st and 2nd line IT support in a busy environment.
• Experience with Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS deployments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Familiar with AV and conferencing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Handle IT and AV queries in person, remote sessions, phone and email.
• Represent IT support in discussions with customers for timely resolution.
• Prioritize workload with significant business impact in mind.
• Escalate complex issues to specialists as required.
• Maintain IT hardware, software and services to meet organisational needs.
• Support AV/conferencing tech for internal and external events.
• Assist with procurement of new IT equipment and services.
• Support Windows and Linux estate and security practices.
