Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director to lead the Ground Engineering Team in the UK. You will drive technical development, oversee geotechnical analyses and design, and strengthen client relationships across projects.

The role requires Chartered status, strong knowledge of UK ground conditions, and a proven track record in project delivery. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex schemes.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology degree with a 2:1 or higher.
A MSc/MEng is advantageous for technical depth.
Chartered status is highly desirable for this senior role.

Responsibilities

Oversee input, peer review, and verification of geotechnical data and analyses.
Provide consultative advice during all project stages including site selection and optioneering.
Manage geotechnical projects with planning, scheduling, and budgeting responsibilities.
Lead and mentor the Ground Engineering team to deliver projects to time and quality.
Build and maintain relationships with clients to secure a healthy project pipeline.
Lead multi-disciplinary delivery, coordinating with Transport, Water, Energy, and Buildings teams.
