Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director for the Ground Engineering Team to drive technical development and strengthen capabilities while supporting business growth across UK projects.

You will oversee geotechnical data, design calculations, project planning and delivery, and provide mentorship to junior engineers while building lasting client relationships for future opportunities.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with 2:1 or higher.
MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
Chartered status is required or highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and ground investigation practices.

Responsibilities

Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses and design calculations.
Provide consultative advice to external partners across the project lifecycle.
Manage geotechnical projects including scheduling, coordination and budget.
Lead and support the Ground Engineering team to deliver projects on time and to quality.
Maintain relationships with past and prospective clients to sustain opportunities.
