Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director to lead our Ground Engineering team across the UK. You will drive technical development, strengthen capabilities, and manage client relationships to support business growth.

You will oversee geotechnical data and analyses, guide project delivery, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with Transport, Water, Energy and Buildings teams. This senior role emphasizes leadership and client-focused delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and ground investigation practices.
• Chartered status.
• Ability to collaborate closely in project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee input, peer review, and verification of geotechnical data and analyses.
• Provide consultative advice during site selection, optioneering, design and construction.
• Manage geotechnical projects including schedules, coordination, and budgets.
• Lead and mentor the Ground Engineering team to deliver projects to time and quality.
• Maintain relationships with past and prospective clients to sustain opportunities.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project delivery with other teams and stakeholders.
