Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director for the Ground Engineering Team in the UK. You will drive the technical development, strengthen capabilities, and manage client relationships to support growth and successful project delivery.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary geotechnical team, oversee design and data verification, and mentor junior colleagues while collaborating with other transport, water, energy and buildings groups.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology (2:1 or higher).
• Chartered status (desirable).
• Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and ground investigation practices.
• Experience leading geotechnical design and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses and design calculations.
• Provide consultative advice to external partners during all project stages from site selection to design and construction.
• Effectively manage geotechnical projects including planning schedules, coordinating activities and meeting objectives and budgets.
• Provide leadership and support to the Ground Engineering team to deliver projects on time and to quality standards.
• Maintain a strong industry presence and build relationships to sustain a steady pipeline of opportunities.
• Take the Ground Engineering lead for multi-disciplinary project delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Transport, Water, Energy and Buildings teams to contribute to project works and tenders.
• Ensure mentoring and development of junior team members.
