Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director/Associate Director to lead its Ground Engineering Team in the UK. The role focuses on driving technical development, expanding capabilities, and strengthening client relationships across national projects.

You will mentor staff, oversee geotechnical studies, and help win work in transport, water, energy and buildings sectors. Candidates will have Chartered status, a Civil Engineering degree (2:1 or higher) and relevant geotechnical leadership experience

Qualifications

• Chartered status with professional oversight.
• Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and investigation practices.
• Familiarity with current geotechnical design codes and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical data input, peer reviews and verification.
• Provide consultative advice across project life cycle from site selection to construction.
• Manage projects to meet schedules, budgets and quality targets.
• Lead and develop the Ground Engineering team and mentor junior staff.
• Build and maintain client relationships to secure ongoing opportunities.
