Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director for the Ground Engineering Team in the UK. You will drive technical development, manage geotechnical projects end-to-end, and strengthen client relationships while mentoring the team.

The role supports strategic growth across national projects with exposure to cross-disciplinary teams. You will collaborate with Transport, Water, Energy and Buildings teams, ensure robust design and adherence to UK standards, and contribute to business

Qualifications

Degree with 2:1 classification (or higher).
Chartered status preferred.
Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and GI practices.
Experience leading geotechnical projects across cycles, from site selection to construction.

Responsibilities

Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses and design calculations.
Provide consultative advice to external partners during all project stages.
Manage geotechnical projects including scheduling, coordination and budget.
Lead and mentor Ground Engineering team to deliver projects on time and to quality.
Build and maintain relationships with clients to sustain a steady pipeline of opportunities.
Lead multi-disciplinary project delivery with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Mentor junior staff and support professional development.
