Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Front End Software Engineer to join our agile engineering team. You'll be working on a cloud-based clinical information management product designed to automate and improve document workflows in healthcare settings, ultimately helping to improve patient outcomes. Your role will focus on the front-end architecture, development, and delivery of the application.

This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams across multiple countries, building maintainable and reusable components that may also support other Civica products in the future.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Developing new front-end features and integrating with backend APIs
  • Updating and modernising existing UI functionality
  • Applying best practices to build secure, performant, high-quality software
  • Creating reusable components for use across other Civica platforms
  • Working with product managers, UX/UI, and stakeholders to shape requirements
  • Estimating, planning, and owning deliverables
  • Debugging and resolving complex technical issues
  • Writing and maintaining technical documentation
  • Staying current with front-end trends and suggesting improvements
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
Required Skills
  • Strong experience with React (hooks), Zustand, TypeScript, JavaScript
  • Solid knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as Vitest, Playwright, or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and debugging ability
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate across teams
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Understanding of automated testing practices
Desirable
  • Exposure to other JS frameworks (especially Knockout.js)
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Experience with micro-frontend architectures
  • Knowledge of .NET, C#
  • Working with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
  • DevOps familiarity (CI/CD, containers, etc.)
